Conservatives win control of Dover District Council

The Conservatives in Dover have today (4 May), gained overall control in the previously hung District Council with a working majority of 11 seats.

They gained six new seats, including Middle Deal where Labour leader Peter Wells lost his seat in a fierce contest together with the two other Labour candidates.

Standing as an Independent, former Dover Mayor Ken Tranter, also failed to win the voters support.
