The 46-year-old was standing outside the Co-op at 66
Cheriton High Street, Folkestone, just after 9.15 pm on Tuesday 29 July
when the incident occurred.

An egg was hurled from a car, which struck the guard in the eye and
caused the globe to perforate. He has had an operation on the eye but
will not yet know if he will regain his sight. He remains in hospital.

A witness believes the egg may have been thrown from a blue car,
possibly a Renault, which may have a loud exhaust.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact
Detective Constable Mel Avory on 01303 850055.
