Folkestone student dies after being struck by train

It's been reported that a university student from Folkestone has been killed by a train near Rugby in Warwickshire.


21-year-old Matthew Greer was reportedly struck by a Virgin train on the West Coast Main Line at  Long Lawford on Tuesday (9 November).

Matthew was in his final year of a BA in English and Journalism at Coventry University.

 

A spokesman for the University told the Coventry Telegraph: “We are greatly saddened by the tragic death of Matthew Greer.

“Our thoughts and condolences are with his family and friends at this difficult time.”

The British Transport Police is not treating his death as suspicious.
