One of the highlights of the village calendar, the popular annual Hawkinge Fun Day,  is being held on September 11th and kicks off at 12 noon on the green opposite the Community Centre.

There will be demonstrations, food stalls, displays by local groups and to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain, the organisers are planning a fly-past by a Spitfire

Among the events planned are powerlifting, historical re-enactment groups, Folkestone ATC band, Joan Brisley with a history of Hawkinge, short mat bowls in the Centre and stalls and demonstrations in Hawkinge Village Hall.

Bands and dancers will be appearing on stage and if that is too energetic for you, why not enjoy a cool beer. Refreshments will also be served from the Foyer of the Community Centre.
