Crime: New arrest as rape investigation continues in Canterbury - UPDATED

Detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate investigating a report of rape in Canterbury have arrested an 18-year-old man.

 

The incident is believed to have taken place during the early hours of Sunday 12 November 2017, sometime before 2am, at an address in Downs Road. The female victim had been in the area of Station Road East before travelling by car to Downs Road.

 


The arrested man, from Canterbury, currently remains in custody.

As part of their enquiries, officers had earlier arrested four other men who have since been released without charge, and there remains a police presence in Downs Road.
