Rochester man dies after car crashes into trees and telegraph pole on A229 near Maidstone

Officers investigating a fatal collision on the A229 Chatham Road at Maidstone yesterday are appealing for witnesses.
 

 

 

A 37-year-old man from Rochester was pronounced dead at the scene after his silver VW Golf left the carriageway of the slip road from the A229 to the Running Horse roundabout and collided with trees and a telegraph pole.

The incident happened at about 3.37am on Sunday 12 February, 2017.

The A229 and the slip-road to the Running Horse roundabout were closed for officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit to carry out enquiries.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw the driver prior to the incident, is urged to call the appeal line on 01622 798538 quoting reference MM/AH/28/17.
