Officers arrest man over theft and possession of firearm following car chase in Folkestone

A 35-year-old man from Ashford has been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, possession with intent to supply and possession of a firearm following an incident in Dover Road, Folkestone.
 




Kent Police officers from the Community Policing Team pursued two men in a car at approximately 12.30pm on Wednesday 15 February 2017 after the car failed to stop for police in Dover Road.

The car was subsequently stopped in Castle Hill where both the men were arrested.

 

Officers investigating the incident have since released one of the men without charge and released the 35-year-old man from Ashford on police bail until Thursday 27 April 2017 pending charges.

Police say that enquiries are ongoing.
