The busy Canterbury Road in Hawkinge is due to close later in the month to allow for essential repairs to be carried out.

Kent County Council has said that to allow essential carriageway patching works to be carried out, it has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Canterbury Road, Hawkinge, near Folkestone.

A closure is planned for Thursday 23 February 2017 for up to 1 day, between 09:00 hours and 16:30 hours.

Canterbury Road will be closed to through traffic between the junctions with A261 Spitfire Way and Aerodrome Road, with no through access during the works.

The alternative route is via A261 Spitfire Way and Aerodrome Road.

Limited access will be available up to where the road is actually closed at any time, but there are likely to be delays and times when this is not possible for safety reasons.
