Woman in custody after string of distraction burglaries in Folkestone, Dover and Deal

Police officers investigating distraction burglaries in east Kent have arrested a woman.

 

 

 

Kent Police received three reports of distraction burglaries during January:


• A burglary in George Street, Dover, reported to have taken place between 8.20pm and 8.45pm on Tuesday 24 January.


• A burglary in Foord Road, Folkestone, reported to have taken place between 8.15pm and 8.45pm on Wednesday 25 January.


• A burglary in Telegraph Road, Deal at around 9pm on Sunday 29 January.

Officers from Dover’s Local District Policing Team and a special constable arrested a woman in Granville Street, Dover on Wednesday 1 February.


The 28-year-old woman from Deal was arrested on suspicion of burglary and shoplifting offences. She remains in police custody while enquiries are ongoing.
