Police are urging people to report suspicious behaviour on industrial estates in Canterbury after receiving reports of three burglaries.

Burglars forced an office window to get into a warehouse in Marshwood Close, Marshwood Industrial Estate, Sturry, in the early hours of Saturday 18 February. They stole a red cash box containing petty cash.

A container at a car wash business in Cow Lane, Wincheap, was broken into between 6.45pm on Sunday 19 February and 7.10am on Monday 20 February and a safe containing paperwork was stolen. The safe was later recovered in a field off Stuppington Lane.

Five people wearing hooded tops were seen trying to break into a business in Cotton Road, Wincheap, at 11.50pm on Sunday 19 February. They failed to get into the building and made off along an alleyway towards St Andrew’s Close.

Sergeant Martin Williams appealed for anyone with information about the incidents to contact police.

‘We are not linking the offences at this stage, however we are asking people to be vigilant and if they see suspicious behaviour to call 101 or 999 if a crime is in progress,’ he said.
