Following the Shepway Sports Trust’s Active 50 launch day, two of the most popular sports will be starting next week.

The Trust said: "We were lucky enough to trial a wide range of different sports, giving people chance to discover new activities and make friends along the way.

"Two of the most popular activities on the day were pickleball and walking netball.

"We are therefore excited to announce that after the interest shown, we are now able to offer these two sports on a weekly basis for our Active 50 members - either on a pay as you go or a
subscription basis."

Walking Netball

Walking netball sessions launch on Tuesday 28th February at Three Hills Sports Park, running
from 3-4 pm and suitable for women of all abilities. The session will then run every week on
Tuesday from 3 - 4 pm.

Walking Netball is a slower version of the game and, as the name suggests, it is netball, but at a walking pace!

The game has been designed so that anyone can play, regardless of age or fitness level.

Shepway Sports Trust are offering your first session free, with all sessions £3 thereafter.

Pickleball was extremely popular on our Active 50 launch day, with many saying they would
like a permanent session for Shepway.

The Trust will be working with GB Pickleball to bring this fun, friendly sport to the area.

Pickleball will launch on Wednesday 1st March, with sessions then running weekly at Three Hills Sports Park between 12 - 1 pm.

Your first session is free and sessions are £3 thereafter.

Pickleball is a fun, paddle-racquet sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong. It is played indoors on a badminton-sized court with a slightly modified tennis net and can be played in either doubles or singles.

Like walking netball, the sport is created for all abilities and easy for beginners to learn.

Shepway Sports Trust is looking forward to welcoming people to the new sessions, either as participants or simply to watch  and enjoy the café facilities at Three Hills Sports Park!
