Roads: Resurfacing begins today on pot holed A260 at Spitfire Way Hawkinge

Contributed by editor on Apr 21, 2017 - 12:05 PM

Work to repair the busy, bumpy and badly pot holed A260 at Spitfire Way Hawkinge is set to begin tonight, 21 April.

Kent County Council will be resurfacing the northbound/ uphill section of the A260 Spitfire Way Hawkinge between Swann Way and White Horse Hill Roundabout.

Part of the southbound section was resurfaced last year.

The work will start on  Friday 21st April 2017 and is expected to take 3 nights to complete (excluding the weekend) between the hours of 7.30pm and 5.00am.

If there is bad weather it may not be possible for the work to take place and residents will be informed of a new date.

During these roadworks, it will be necessary to close a section of Spitfire Way, between Swann Way and White Horse Hill Roundabout so that works can be carried out safely for both the workforce and road users.

The diversion route for traffic will be Spitfire Way, Canterbury Rd, White Horse Hill. The pavements will remain open at all times and footway access to businesses and residential properties will be available.
