Police discover burglary after two vehicle blaze at Shorncliffe Industrial Estate, Folkestone

Kent Police is appealing for witnesses after a car fire was reported at a business premises on the Shorncliffe Industrial Estate, Folkestone.

 

 

Emergency services were called to the fire, which destroyed a Nissan Micra and damaged a VW van, at 1.40am on Thursday 4 May 2017.

Police were called and discovered a burglary had also taken place at the premises. Stolen items included two vehicles, a grey BMW and a silver Audi A3.

The BMW was recovered in Naseby Avenue, Folkestone, on Monday 8 May 2017. The Audi A3 is still missing.

Officers are treating the car fire as suspicious.

Detective Sergeant Cara Ferguson said: ‘Two men with dark hair and dark clothing were seen with the BMW in Naseby Avenue on Monday 8 May. They drove off in an older model turquoise BMW.

‘We are keen to hear from anyone who saw any suspicious activity at the business premises on the Shorncliffe Industrial Estate on Wednesday night, or who saw the BMW being left in Naseby Avenue four days later.’
