Drivers are being warned of closures on the A20 between Folkestone and Dover this week.

The main road to the Port of Dover will be closed from 15 May 2017 for 7 nights for works to take place to 'improve journeys'.

There will be a full closure of the road in both directions between the Western Heights roundabout and the A260 junction between 8.00pm and 6.00am.

Diversions via the A256, B2011 and A260 will be put in place.

In addition there will be a 24 hour lane closure on the westbound carriageway between Western Heights and the Courtwood interchange for the duration of the works.

All the works are part of Highways England's permanent arrangement for Dover TAP (Traffic Access Protocol), which will install a variable speed limit on the A20. It is scheduled for completion by the end of July 2017.
