Bogus police officer in Ramsgate tricks teenager into emptying his pockets and stealing his cash

An e-fit has been released of a man who is alleged to have robbed a teenager while falsely claiming to be a police officer.


The incident happened in Chatham Passage, Ramsgate, at about 2.30pm on Sunday 16 April 2017.

It was reported that the suspect (e-fit left) ordered the 17-year-old victim to empty his pockets before telling him they would be returned at the police station.

He then walked the boy to Cavendish Street via Chatham Street, Chapel Place and Meeting Street before giving him his belongings back apart from £60 cash.

The suspect is described as being in his late 30s, about 5ft 10in with dark hair and eyes, unshaven and with a grey or black tooth. He was wearing light jeans, a black bomber jacket and black Adidas trainers.
