Ashford man charged over burglary, theft and fraud offences

An Ashford man has been remanded in custody by Medway magistrates after being charged with burglary, theft and fraud offences.


The 31-year-old from Kennington, has been charged with stealing a handbag containing a debit card, mobile phone and cash from a car parked in Cemetery Lane, Kennington, on 27 April 2017.

He is also charged with making a contactless payment with a stolen debit card in Ashford on two occasions on 27 April 2017 and once on 15 May 2017.

He is further charged with stealing a wallet from a vehicle parked in Sussex Avenue, Ashford, on 19 May 2017, and breaking into a house in Rectory Way, Ashford, on 15 May 2017 and stealing a mobile phone, bank cards, a tablet computer, watches, jewellery and electrical items.

He was remanded in custody by Medway magistrates on Monday 22 May 2017 and is due to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday 19 June 2017.
