Two people have been arrested following reports of a roofing scam in Tunbridge Wells involving a dead squirrel.

Kent Police has received a number of recent reports about suspicious activity in the town, where it is alleged a man has been knocking on doors offering unnecessary roof repairs.

On at least one occasion a man is said to have inspected the roof of a property, before producing a dead squirrel and demanding money to clear a pest infestation.

On 24 May, 2017 officers arrested a 34-year-old man from the Tunbridge Wells area, on suspicion of fraud by false representation. He has been bailed pending further enquiries until 5 July.

A 22-year-old woman from the Tunbridge Wells area was also arrested on suspicion of fraud by false representation. She has been released, pending further investigation.
