Memorial committee to commemorate the death of Folkestone 'local hero' Samuel Plimsoll

The Samuel Plimsoll memorial committee is to commemorate the death of the great man who lived and died in Folkestone.



Samuel Plimsoll is single handedly responsible for saving thousands of lives at sea and he is to again be remembered in Folkestone.

A short service is being held on 3rd June at 2.30pm at St Martins church in Horn Street, Folkestone

This will be followed by a wreath laying at 3.00pm and  a presentation/conversation by master mariner Captain Charles Woodward about his 45 years at sea.

It will be followed by tea and cakes in St Martins Church Hall.
