Fire crews rushing to big blaze at Herne Bay wood store

Kent Fire and Rescue Service has reported it is at the scene of a fire involving a one-storey building measuring approximately 100m x 200m used as a wood store.


The blaze at a premises on a Herne Bay business park at Eddington Lane was reported shortly after 8.00 am this morning, 23 June.

The fire is creating a large amount of smoke in the area and local residents are asked to keep their doors and windows closed.

Six fire engines and approximately 25 firefighters are currently tackling the blaze using main jets and hose reel jets. A height vehicle and command support unit are also on their way to the scene.
