Crime: Police appeal over string of burglaries in New Romney and Littlestone

Kent Police is appealing for witnesses after a number of burglaries were reported in New Romney and Littlestone.


Officers are linking the burglaries, which all took place overnight from Thursday 7 September to Friday 8 September 2017.

Homes in Ryswick Mews, Richmond Drive, Carey Close, Mabledown Close and Church Road, New Romney, were broken into.

In Littlestone, burglaries were reported in Queens Road and St Nicholas Road.

Electrical equipment, handbags, phones and wallets were targeted. Some items have subsequently been discovered after being dumped nearby.

An Audi was stolen from outside a house in Mabledown Road.


Detective Constable Rebecca Mross said: ‘We have received seven reports of burglaries or attempted burglaries to date and we are pursuing a number of lines of enquiry.

‘We are also appealing for witnesses to contact us, so if you saw anyone acting suspiciously or suspicious vehicles in the area on Thursday night we would like to hear from you.


‘We would also like to hear from anyone with CCTV footage that could help with the investigation.’
