Dover man dies in crash on A2 near Lydden

A motorcyclist from Dover has died following a collision on the A2 near Lydden.


It was reported the collision took place at 12.50pm on Wednesday 10 October 2018 on the A2 coastbound carriageway in Lydden near to the traffic lights junction.

A silver Honda CB650 motorcycle was involved in a collision with a black Hyundai ix20 car. The motorcyclist, a man in his 20s from Dover, sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.

The road was closed in both directions while officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) attended the scene to carry out an investigation.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who saw the collision, or if you were waiting at the traffic lights before the collision took place, and in particular if you have any dashcam footage.

Other motorcyclists are reported to have been in the area at the time and officers ask that they come forward as they may have information which could help enquiries.
