Police in Ramsgate appeal for witnesses after man is smashed over the head with pool cue

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to an assault in Ramsgate which saw a man needing hospital treatment after sustaining head injuries following an incident in a local pub.

It was reported that at around 7.30pm on Thursday 12 April the victim, a man in his 40s, was in the Earl St Vincent pub in King Street when he was hit over the head with a pool cue.

The man suffered an injury to his head and was taken to a local hospital.

The suspect was described as a white man, around 5 ft 7ins tall, with grey hair and spoke with a Scottish accent.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the assault or who has information about the incident.
