Investigation launched over 'suspicious' beach hut fires in Birchington Thanet

Police are investigating after a number of beach huts were reported damaged during a fire in Birchington.


Kent Fire and Rescue Service reported to Police that in the early hours of Wednesday 12 September 2018 their crews had fought a blaze in the Parade, Minnis Bay, reported to them just after 3am.

Three beach huts were reported to have received severe damage.

Police attended the scene to carry out enquiries regarding the fire, which is being treated as suspicious.

People with information regarding the fire, or anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious, is asked to call Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting 12-095.
