Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to a fire involving an outbuilding in Staple Road, Wingham near Canterbury at 10.00am yesterday, 9 January.

Crews arrived to find a wooden outbuilding well alight. The fire created heavy smoke logging which affected neighbouring properties. Three men and a woman presented with the effects of breathing in smoke.

It is understood the vehicle rammed the front of the shop and then pulled out the cash machine using strapping of some kind.

Firefighters worked with paramedics to give the casualties oxygen therapy as a precaution before they were taken to hospital by ambulances.

Crews used breathing apparatus, hose reel jets and a main jet to extinguish the fire. The outbuilding measured approx. 12metres x 3metres. The cause of the blaze isn't known at this stage.
