Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for the driver of a car found in Oare Creek to come forward.
At about 10.45pm on Thursday 7 February officers on patrol in Nixon Avenue,
Ramsgate requested a Ford Focus to stop.
A pursuit was authorised but officers lost sight of the vehicle.
During the early hours of Friday 8 February the vehicle was spotted by a patrol
again, in The Street, Oare near Faversham.
Officers again lost sight of the vehicle before a member of the public called
Kent Police to a nearby creek where the car was found partially submerged.
The driver however, was not in the car.
Police Constable Richard Smith said: “Despite extensive enquiries including the
assistance of Kent Fire and Rescue Service and the Coastguard we have been
unable to locate the driver of the vehicle. We are keen to locate them in order
to ensure they are safe and well and to assist officers with their enquiries.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Kent Police on 01622 798538 quoting
