Court appearance for Canterbury man following theft and driving offences

A man is to appear in court charged with driving offences, theft and going equipped for theft in Canterbury.

The 29-year-old from Canterbury was stopped by police on the A28 and arrested on Tuesday 4 June 2019.

He was charged with using a motor vehicle without insurance or a licence and going equipped for theft.

Hammer and crowbar

Officers' seized a small hammer, crowbar, screwdrivers and rubber gloves during his arrest.

He also faces a charge of theft from a motor vehicle after a satellite navigation system and mobile phone was reported stolen from a car parked in a car park in Canterbury on Sunday 5 May 2019.

The man appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court on Wednesday 5 June 2019 where he was released on bail.

He is next due to appear at Margate Magistrate's Court on Thursday 20 June 2019.
