Man charged with conspiracy to murder following threats to Dover village resident

Threats made to a man from Aylesham and the discovery of a firearm has led to the charging of two further suspects.


On Monday 1 July 2019 the Crown Prosecution Service authorised a charge against 35-year-old man, of no fixed address for conspiracy to murder.

The charge relates to an ongoing investigation led by the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate after threats were made to a man’s life on Wednesday 1 May 2019.

The man was remanded in custody and will next appear at Canterbury Crown Court on 5 August 2019.

Officers also charged a 24-year-old man from Hersden on Monday 9 July 2019 in connection with the incident. He has been charged with supplying firearms and remanded in custody to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on 5 August 2019.

On Wednesday 1 May 2019 a firearm was seized by Kent Police officers after they stopped a motorist just before midnight on the A28 in Sarre.

The weapon was found following the search of a nearby field and a 24-year-old man from Westgate-on-Sea was arrested along with another 24-year-old from Canterbury.

The pair were subsequently charged with the possession of a firearm and ammunition as well as conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm. They are next due to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on 14 October 2019.’
