Below is a useful guide for effectively preparing your wardrobe for spring.

Conduct a thorough spring clean

In order to ready your wardrobe for some exciting new items, you need to make an effort to get rid of the pieces that you no longer wear. Go through all of the items inside your closet and be extremely strict about what you choose to hold on to. Ask yourself if each individual piece would be something that you would invest in if you were shopping right now. If not, it is time to say goodbye. However, do your best to avoid discarding these unwanted articles of clothing in the rubbish bin. If you are unable to donate them for whatever reason, consider repurposing them instead. For instance, an old, tattered pair of jeans can be transformed into a flattering new pair of denim shorts.

Put your winter essentials away

Those coats and jerseys are very bulky and are certainly taking up way too much space in your wardrobe. It is always a great idea to separate your winter essentials from your spring and summer items, just so you have a better idea of what pieces of clothing you have available to wear. If you are unable to see what items you have, then countless pieces will go unworn – much to your dismay when you rediscover them only after the warmer season comes to an end!

Shop for the basics

You can add your own special touch to your style once you have sorted out all of the basics. For example, you will require a great pair of jeans that fit your body like a glove, as well as a handful of light yet cosy cardigans to see you through those in-between days when the weather can’t quite make up its mind. Another essential wardrobe basic for 2020 is a flowing kaftan. Kaftans are incredibly fashionable this year and available at a number of leading retail stores, including Froxx. Some of the most sought-after designs include tie-dye and floral kaftans, with blue being the colour of choice.

Familiarise yourself with the latest trends

Before hitting the shops, be sure to do some research into what fashion trends are set to take centre stage this spring. Most style-savvy experts agree that spring 2020 will see a substantial 1980s revival, so dare to go retro as much as possible. Think neon colours, powerful shoulders, and exaggerated silhouettes. Other top fashion trends to make room for include overemphasised collars, heavy prints, and crochet maxi dresses, to name but a few.

Now that you know how to prepare your wardrobe for springtime and the more pleasant weather, it is time to get started. Enjoy the process and the warmer temperatures, because winter will be back again before you know it.
