With the severe weather on America's east coast  worse than expected, Peter Jurzynski, Folkestone's American cousin has worries over the supplies of heating oil in his hometown of Naugatuck, Connecticut.

Dear Editor,

During my numerous winter visits to Folkestone I  have seen traffic problems in the town due to snow, but here  in the US on the eve of Thanksgiving (26 November) we are experiencing a snow, rain and ice event that has hit us on the busiest travel day in the country.
