Drivers heading into and out of Folkestone on the A260 are likely to face delays when road repairs are carried out between Densole and Swingfield.

Work to resurface parts of the road starts on Monday 17 March and is expected to last for about two weeks.

During the day, traffic will be controlled with temporary traffic lights. To allow the work to be carried out safely, some resurfacing will done at night and the road will be closed to through traffic between 7.00pm and 7.00am on Monday 17 March, Thursday 27 March and Friday 28 March. The road will be closed between just south of The Chequers public house, Swingfield and Coach Road, Densole.

Traffic heading towards Canterbury will be diverted via the Alkham Valley Road, Alkham Road, London Road River, Whitfield Hill and the A2. HGV traffic travelling towards Canterbury will be diverted via A20 Dover and the A2. Traffic heading to Folkestone from the A2 will be diverted to Dover and the A20 to Folkestone.

Access to properties where the work is being carried will not be affected and letters have been sent to properties in the area.
