Three-course meal deal for just £13 at Folkestone Academy students' new restaurant

Members of the local community joined Folkestone Academy staff and students to celebrate the re-opening of their training kitchen and restaurant Room 213, following a major refurbishment over the summer.

The kitchen and restaurant is run by students working towards their Level 1, 2 and 3 in Hospitality and Catering under the guidance of Jon Sidhu, Teacher of Catering.

Finest and freshest ingredients

They provide a 3-course meal prepared with only the finest and freshest ingredients, sourced locally wherever possible for only £13 per head. There is even a kitchen garden within the Academy grounds to provide quality seasonal produce for the restaurant.

The restaurant is open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with lunch starting at 12noon.

Room 213 is the fabulous showcase restaurant for VRQ and NVQ students studying Hospitality and Catering at The Folkestone Academy.


Exclusive 30 seat restaurant

The ultra-modern training kitchen is state of the art, with students working to exceptionally high standards, cooking for the public in the exclusive 30 seat restaurant that is called “Room 213”.

Alex Silver, Head of Business, Society and Vocational Faculty at the Academy said: “We have invested a lot into this restaurant over the summer to create a working and learning environment that everyone can be proud of. We have had a complete redecoration and have incorporated a bar area, allowing us to offer a full bar service which will let us to incorporate alcohol and Barista style coffee qualifications.

I feel that the changes made have already transformed Room 213 into a modern, more professional restaurant to allow our students to further their knowledge and experience in the hospitality industry.”
