Crime: Man charged with attempted murder in Folkestone

A 36-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder in Folkestone.


The charges relate to an incident at an address in Downs Road, Folkestone at 7.37pm on Thursday 16 March 2017 in which a man sustained injuries consistent with stab wounds.

He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Officers are continuing to appeal for information and ask that any witnesses contact Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting 16-1211.

The man of no fixed address, was charged on Friday 17 March 2017 with one count of attempted murder, one count of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, one count of using threatening or abusive words or behaviour, and one count of criminal damage.

He appeared at Canterbury Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 18 March and was remanded in custody. He is due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on 18 April 2017.
