A 27-year-old man has been jailed for 26 months after he pleaded guilty to making and possessing indecent images involving children between September 2009 and February 2016.

Benjamin Williams from Mongeham Road near Deal pleaded guilty at Canterbury Crown Court on Wednesday 29 March 2017 to four counts of making indecent images, six counts of possessing indecent images and one count of possessing an extreme pornographic image.

Kent Police officers arrested Williams on Tuesday 23 February 2016 after executing a search warrant at his home. His computer equipment and a mobile telephone were seized and images were discovered along with online chat conversations concerned in the activity.

Williams was sentenced on Wednesday 10 May 2017 at Canterbury Crown Court.

Detective Constable Jon Baker said: ‘We will use every available resource at Kent Police to track down and arrest people like Williams who commit these appalling crimes to fulfil their own desires.

‘Williams will now serve time in prison where he can no longer be involved in the exploitation of young children, who are among the most vulnerable in our society.’
