Three teenagers from London arrested following robbery and attempted street robbery in Ashford

Kent Police is appealing for witnesses after a robbery and an attempted robbery were reported in Ashford on Saturday 20 May 2017.


The attempted robbery is reported to have taken place between 11am and 11.30am at a shopping centre in Kimberley Way.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Kirsty Bricknell said: ‘A group of youths approached a man and demanded he hand over his mobile phone and watch, but they made off empty-handed.

‘They then approached a second man in the nearby underpass, threatened him and stole his mobile phone.’

Officers are appealing for witnesses to the two incidents to call Kent Police on 01843 222289 or Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 quoting reference number ZY/20551/17.

Three teenagers, two aged 17 and one aged 16, were arrested on a train to London later the same day on suspicion of robbery and attempted robbery.

The three, who are all from the London area, have been bailed until 10 June 2017 while enquiries continue.
