Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called just after 5.00pm  yesterday, 4 May, to reports of a caravan on fire in Cornwallis Avenue, Aylesham.

Three fire engines arrived to find the caravan well alight.

Crews used a hose reel jet and main jet with water from a hydrant to tackle the blaze, which also involved an LPG cylinder.

A safety cordon was set up and the cylinder was allowed to vent safely, while being monitored from outside the cordon.

Crews also used a cooling jet on the cylinder to bring the temperature down.
