Crime: Police arrest third man over Margate wine bar fracas

Officers investigating a report of an assault in Margate have made a third arrest.


Kent Police officers were called to Sundowners Wine Bar in Albert Terrace to a report of a disturbance at 2.29am on Sunday 6 August 2017.

Two men suffered injuries and required hospital treatment. A 19-year-old man from Margate and a 22-year-old man from Birchington were arrested on suspicion of affray on 6 August 2017.

The 22-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of criminal damage. Both men have been released pending further enquiries.

Third arrest

A third man, aged 23 from Margate, was arrested on Tuesday 8 August 2017 on suspicion of affray in connection with the same incident.

He has also been released pending further enquiries.
