Fire: House fire in Sturry near Canterbury destroys 60 per cent of roof

Kent Fire and Rescue Service were called to a small pitched roof fire in Laburnham Lane, Sturry yesterday afternoon, 2 September.

 

Three fire engines attended the blaze.

 



Firefighters used a thermal imaging camera, small tools and two high pressure hose reels to extinguish the fire.

The incident is believed to have started accidentally.

It destroyed the contents of the loft and the cold water and header tanks.

 



60 per cent of the roof was damaged and the front and rear bedroom ceilings and electrics were affected by water damage.
