Pupils from The Churchill School in Hawkinge and Selsted School will be at St. Peter's Church in Swingfield on Thursday afternoon and Friday afternoon as part of the village's Remembrance events.

St Peter's Church is a redundant Anglican church in the village near Hawkinge. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building, and is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust.

Whilst there the pupils will be completing workbooks to identify soldiers who lost their lives in The First and Second World Wars and will establish where they lived and discover information about their lives.

On Sunday,10th November, the Lych Gate Service of Remembrance at St. Peter's will commence at around 11.45am after the Reverend and local dignitaries arrive from visiting other churches in the Parish.

Light refreshments for the children will be provided after the Lych Gate service.
