Remembrance Sunday service to be held at Memorial Gardens in Ashford

Ashford will be holding a service in the Memorial Gardens to mark Remembrance Sunday on 10 November. This will be a short service that will include the laying of wreaths and two minutes of silence at 11.00am.





Those attending are advised to arrive 10 minutes before the service begins. However, the public can assemble in the gardens from 10.00am. onwards.

The Gate on Church Road will remain locked all morning until after the service has finished, so entrance to the Gardens is via Station Road, Vicarage Lane or the entrance near the College. There is no access to the War Memorial Garden for the general public.

The Order of Service will be available to members of the public on entering the Memorial Gardens and those wishing to lay wreaths at the War Memorial and plant crosses in the Garden of Remembrance may do so once the service is concluded.

The service will start at 11.00am when the Church Bells will ring to mark the start of the two minute silence.

Visitors and residents are advised to take advantage of the free parking in Vicarage Lane car park which is adjacent to St Marys Church. Alternatively, visitors can park in Edinburgh Road car park which is free every Sunday.

The Mayor of Ashford will be in attendance and the procession will include the President of the Royal British Legion, Deputy Lord Lieutenant and Royal British Legion Standard Bearers.
