Sergeant Steve Moat from Thanet Community Safety Unit said: ‘We would like to hear from anyone who thinks their vehicle has been damaged or stolen from, and ask that they report it via 101 or online, as it will help investigating officers to build up a picture of the areas affected and could provide further investigative opportunities to identify those responsible.

‘While patrols will be out in the areas to prove reassurance and carry out enquiries, we also ask anyone who might have home CCTV footage in those streets to come forward and assist by calling 01843 222289 quoting the relevant crime reference number.

‘Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously by calling 0800 555 111 or using the anonymous online form at www.Crimestoppers-uk.org [1]

‘Finally, we urge people to ensure they remove any valuable items from their vehicles, including dashboard cameras and satnav devices - don’t give thieves the satisfaction of finding something to steal.’
