Ashford man remanded for alleged assault with pair of scissors

A suspect has been charged over an alleged assault with a pair of scissors in Ashford town centre.

Kent Police was called at 2.37pm on Sunday 12 January 2020 to a report that a man had suffered injuries to his arm after being assaulted in the Ashford’s High Street.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not life-threatening and he has since been discharged.

A 27-year-old man from the town has since been charged with wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm, possession of a bladed article and criminal damage.

He appeared before Medway Magistrates Court on Monday, 13 January 2020 where he entered a not guilty plea to three charges. He was remanded in custody and will appear before Canterbury Crown Court on Monday, 10 February 2020.
