51-year-old man charged over assaulting a police officer and possession of firearm in Canterbury pharmacy fracas

A 51-year-old man is to appear in court, charged in connection with assaulting a police officer in Canterbury.

The charges relate to an incident on 20 November 2019 in which one of the City Centre Constables sustained an injury during a disturbance at a pharmacy in St George’s Street.

The officer attended a local hospital for treatment.


The man, of no fixed address, has been served a postal requisition to attend Margate Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 16 July 2020 to face charges of causing actual bodily harm and possession of a firearm (Pava spray) with intent to cause fear.
