Shepway District and Kent County Councillor, Susan Carey is keen to keep Hawkinge looking smart and will be taking part in the next volunteer litter pick in the town.

Work is proceeding well and on schedule to create a new network of footpaths and walkways in and around Folkestone Harbour and Seafront, with an expected completion of late August 2017.
 


Witness appeal following serious M20 crash at Junction 11 near Eurotunnel at Folkestone

Kent Police is appealing for witnesses to a serious collision involving three vehicles on the M20 on Wednesday 12 July 2017.
 

Footnote:



The collision, which occurred at approximately 12.15pm between Junction 11 and 12 coast-bound, involved a red DAF recovery truck, a blue Iveco Straus HGV with trailer and a white Mercedes Sprinter flatbed.

A man in his 20s was airlifted to a London hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are appealing for witnesses who saw the collision or any of the vehicles beforehand to contact them as soon as possible.
