Kent Police investigation launched after woman is reportedly raped in Thanet

Officers investigating a report that a woman was raped in Thanet are appealing for information. It is believed two members of the public may have seen a woman in a car in St Mary’s Road, Minster, between 11.30pm and 11.50pm on Friday 30 March following the reported attack.

A former school that had been derelict for years has been converted into flats thanks to an award-winning council scheme. Westbrook Preparatory School in Shorncliffe Road, originally part of Dover College, will now provide 11 new homes following a sympathetic refurbishment by Will Brown of Browns Construction.

Telephone scam prompts warning to east Kent residents

A telephone scam targeting people in the east of the county has resulted in police issuing a warning. A number of people in Romney Marsh, Broadstairs and Ramsgate have reported that they have received phone calls claiming they are under investigation by the HMRC and may be sued.

Man arrested in connection with alleged Herne Bay hammer attack

Detectives investigating a serious assault in Herne Bay have arrested a man. The assault is reported to have taken place at the junction of Mortimer Street and East Street between 7.25pm and 7.30pm on Friday 30 March 2018.
