Brighton and Hove City Council is considering slashing the annual summer break in favour of a mid-term ‘standalone’ week’s holiday, so parents can take advantage of less expensive holiday deals. If the council goes ahead, there is hope that other local authorities, including Kent, will adopt the same policy.
