Thrills and spills on a weekend in Le Touquet...6 February 2003

Contributed by localrags on Feb 06, 2003 - 10:41 AM

Once every year a transformation takes place in the normally quiet French resort of Le Touquet. On 8 and 9 February 2003 the seaside town. Frequently visited by Parisians for "le weekend", hosts Enduro du Touquet, the world's largest sand endurance race with more than 1000 trail and quad bikes competing in high-speed thrills and spills on a three-hour circuit of the dunes.

With 250,000 spectators, there's a party atmosphere throughout the weekend with restaurants and cafés catering for everything from seafront snacks to à la carte dining.

Street entertainment is provided by carnival bands, whilst on the seafront you'll find a funfair and miles of refreshment stalls.

Travel with Eurotunnel from Folkestone to Calais/Coquelles in just 35 minutes and you too could be enjoying the thrills and spills of Le Touquet. Early bird day trip fares cost fromas little as £49 for a car and passengers. Le Touquet is just 40 minutes drive from Eurotunnel's Calais/Coquelles terminal on the A16 (exit 26 for Le Touquet).

To book online, click on our link for a £2 discount or call Eurotunnel on 08705 353535.
