More than 25 cannabis plants were seized and a man was arrested by police investigating drug cultivation in Ashford.

Officers arrived at an address in Bank Street in the town at 9.30pm on Tuesday 10 November 2020 following a report of a strange smell.

A number of cannabis plants were seized and a 31-year-old man from the Ashford area was arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis.

The man has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Inspector Jason Atkinson, of Ashford Community Safety Unit, said: ‘Kent Police is determined to shut down and disrupt drug dealing networks at every opportunity.

‘If you suspect drugs are being cultivated, produced or dealt in your area, please contact Kent Police on 101, through our website, or 999 if a crime is in progress.’
