A pair of suspected drug dealers have been charged after proactive officers detained them in Maidstone.

At around 12.30pm on Thursday 21 January 2021, officers from Kent Police’s County Line and Gang Team stopped two men in Melville Road they suspected were involved in the supply of Class A drugs.

Both were arrested and taken into custody. Officers also seized four mobile phones, twelve heroin deals, some herbal cannabis, a knife and a quantity of cash.

The pair, both from the Manchester area but currently of no fixed address, were later charged with being concerned in the supply of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to supply, being concerned in the supply of cocaine, being concerned in the supply of ketamine and being concerned in the supply of cannabis.

The 20-year-old was also charged with possessing a knife in a public place and the 22-year-old was further charged with one count of possessing cannabis.

Both men appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 22 January where they were remanded to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on 22 February.
