A man has been arrested in connection with allegations of a sexual assault at a nature reserve near Longfield train station.

The suspect was detained following a report that a woman was assaulted as she was walking on a footpath through Rectory Meadow, near Bramblefield Close.

The incident is alleged to have taken place between 6.30pm and 7pm on Tuesday 13 July 2021, when the victim was approached by a stranger and touched inappropriately.

Aged 47 and from the Swanley area, the suspect was arrested on Thursday 15 July on suspicion of sexual assault and taken in custody.

Officers are continuing to appeal to witnesses who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area to contact police. Residents living nearby with doorbell cameras and other home security systems, as well as motorists with dashcam, are also urged to check for any footage which may assist the investigation.
