The newly refurbished Stour Centre, reopened to the public on 1 June and the main pool reopened on 26 July following a multi-million pound refurbishment.

Daniel Lynn, General Manager at The Stour Centre said: “Since we opened the feedback on the new centre and its facilities has been overwhelmingly positive. We are delighted to see customers returning to The Stour as well as welcoming all our new customers.

“We want everyone to make a date in their diaries and bring their friends and family to our ‘Community Open Weekend’ so they can see for themselves what the whole of Ashford is talking about.”

Cllr Matthew Forest, portfolio holder for Culture, Tourism and Leisure at Ashford Borough Council, said: “The Community Open Weekend is an excellent opportunity to see the Stour Centre’s improved new-look facilities and sample some of the exciting activities on offer.

“Whether you’re a casual gym-goer or a future Olympic champion, there will be something to appeal to all ages and abilities.”

The Community Open Weekend will be a ‘come and try’ event to enable as many people as possible to experience the facilities so no booking will be required. Session times may be shortened to avoid disappointment and accommodate everyone and reduce queueing times however all activities will be subject to availability.
